The Mail
The United States Postal Service offers at no-cost, a "change of address" service that is very useful and easy to request.
The service notifies the local post office of your change of address, so that all the correspondence arriving at the previous residence will be re-sent to the new address.
When this service is requested, you complete a form including your name, the address of the residence that you are leaving, and the address of the new residence. You should fill out a form for each family member that is moving, ensuring that the correspondence for each person’s name is re-sent to the new residence.
This service can be requested directly at the post office or through the Internet at www.usps.com, in the section called "Receiving Your Mail".
It is advisable to notify everyone whom you wish to keep informed of the new address. Personal notification cards can be obtained at post office locations.
It is also recommended that you notify the following of your new address: banks, credit card and insurance firms, companies with which you have contracts, doctors, dentists, etc.
